TOTIMOSHI-ST

TOTIMOSHI could be described as "alternative" rock that leans toward metal but that's only half the truth. To these ears the band comes in and through 5 by 5 as pure unadulterated outsider rock and that's a great thing indeed. Think well done Nirvana worship in the lunar phase of the Melvins. Hailing from the San Francisco Bay Area they fly their freak flag with great pride.
This self titled debut album was self released back in 1999. Having heard the following four albums one would be hard pressed to guess that this was the same band. On Totimoshi the band seem to be playing the music they want to hear as versus what some record label would like to put out. For you and me this is a great thing. We get sludgy riffs that aren't too downtrodden mixed with well placed drums and bass. Highly recommended.
As stated before this disk was self released which explains it's general scarcity. For a collector that is looking for something new or different from (kinda) way back I would look toward Totimoshi's self titled debut.

RADIO HEAD !!! THE KING OF LIMBS

OK (computer?)here is the new radiohead. Entitled The King of Limbs this brings us back to an alternate reality where electronic music would start playing a bigger role on these guys sound post OK Computer and yet not lead them down the rabbit hole in which they were sucked into. I don't know how awesome or how well this one will stand up to the test of time but I am excited none the least. This new/old sound seems to work out best when T.Y. isn't singing and the nice blips and bloops make me feel like I am floating... The consensus between fobs 1998 and fobs 2011 is that I will listen to this recording way more than anything else that came out after OK computer...but don't mull over my thoughts too much, what do I know I'm a Creep.

I know that this seems a little thrown together but like I said, I am legitimately excited about this release...this doesn't happen often or frequently enough. I will be re-reviewing it later. HINT: I could be an excellent choice to send more demos to,

So I resurrected my old blog (RIP uncanny blog of the blog) changed it's name and not it's here in a slightly new context. Today and from uhhh today forward it will have a slightly broader yet less refined outlook. I am going to review and pimp music and comics now. and books and nerds and pets and everything else that entertains me like a court jester on crank.
